Established in 1959, the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra has a long tradition of uniquely enriching the musical life of our community. CUSO is honored to be named the professional orchestra in residence at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The orchestra is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and receives no funding from Krannert Center or the University of Illinois. Over the past 64 years, CUSO has performed more than 300 concerts, bringing the magic of live orchestral music to music lovers of all ages.

JOB OPENING: DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Join the CUSO team that keeps the music playing! The Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra seeks an outgoing and dynamic individual to lead our development program and oversee all aspects of successful fundraising and community engagement. The Development Director is responsible for managing the fundraising, development, and community engagement programs of the orchestra. This staff member works collaboratively with the Executive Director to cultivate and obtain community support from businesses and individuals through sponsorships, donation campaigns, major gift calls, planned giving, fundraising events, and public engagement. Candidates should have three or more years of nonprofit development experience and ideally be an enthusiastic supporter of music and the arts.

The Development Director will play a vital role in building a vibrant network of community support for CUSO and the orchestra’s proud tradition of enriching the musical life of Champaign-Urbana. Find the complete job description here.
