About the Guild

The CUSO Guild is a non-profit organization of men and women of all ages, united by our appreciation of music and dedicated to the support of the CUSO and its musical enrichment programs in our community

Our efforts include:

Fundraising events:
  • The Guild hosts fundraisers each year to support youth music education, including In Good Taste parties, kitchen walks, house walks, and the prolific Champaign-Urbana Coverlet Project.
Education and entertainment for students:
  • In-School Concerts by CUSO musicians
  • Scholarships to the Illinois Summer Youth Music camp
  • Spring Youth Concerts at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts

Membership Benefits:
  • Learning opportunities - Pre-concert lectures are given before the concerts and are focused on the upcoming symphonic program. Usually, the lectures are led by the CUSO Music Director and Conductor. Occasionally, we also are joined by guest solo artists appearing with the CUSO.
  • Newsletters - Our newsletters keep you abreast of ongoing events and happenings in the Guild and the CUSO.
  • Two general membership meetings - We conduct a spring and fall meeting with entertaining programs.

There are many different levels of participation - You can choose to be an active volunteer by joining a committee and getting involved in the planning and organization of our events or simply stuff envelopes occasionally or usher at the Youth Concerts. You also can choose to provide financial support only. Any level of support you choose will be appreciated - and an important contribution to the culture of our community.

Your personal benefit - Meet people from all walks of life with similar interests, and increase your musical appreciation and enjoyment!

We need your support, time and talent - join the CUSO Guild today!
